The Constellation, designed by John Lenthall, was launched in Baltimore on September 7, 1797. On February 5, 1799 She was captured the French 36 gun frigate "L'Insurgente" off the island of Nevis in the West Indies. She remained in service until 1854 when she was broken up at Norfolk, Virginia. Re-commissioned in 1940, she served as relief flagship for the Atlantic fleet and the Battleship Division Five from 1941 to 1943. She is currently afloat at Baltimore's Inner Harbor.
This model was built according to scale of the original ship by skillful craftsmen. It takes hundreds of man-hours to finish. Model is full assembled and ready for display.
